Skillz on Display

Played in the blogger skillz game. My feelings upon exit:
Bayne: I may need a ghostwritten blog post
sirfwalgman: "Motherfucking flush chasing s000ted donkey fucks"
sirfwalgman: you can use that

The hand that prompted this request:

Full Tilt Poker Game #5049007249: Blogger Skill Series (35811805), Table 5 - 200/400 - Pot Limit Hold'em - 23:28:00 ET - 2008/01/29

Jestocost jumped to chip lead with this stellar play but somehow despite having a 2:1 edge on 2nd place with two tables left managed to ride such brilliant decision making to not cash.

Don't spend the $2 bounty all in one place.

In Bodog blogger tourney I was Final Table bubble boy when I lost a race to ScottMc's jackAce.

At least I had the pleasure of completely outplaying MiamiDon early on.

CEM raised to 70, I smooth called with my 98 sooooted and Don in the Blinds called with AA.

Flop was JT7 (1 of my suit, 2 hearts) CEM bet ~pot, I min raised and Don raised to 960. CEM folded I raised (not called raised) for 2nd time on the flop and Don was crippled.

To quote sirfwalgman: "Motherfucking flush chasing s000ted donkey fucks" of course calling 70 chips with 2k+ behind is quite different than calling off 10 BB with chance of winning 4 more with a suited tourist.

Mookie is tonight, I may just shove every frckng hand with a face or ace so I can contend

Got to love the blogger donks. That is just such a terrible play that is has to make you laugh. We can only hope he was drunk.

Yup. If you want to call flopping a straight to crack AAs outplaying then more power to you.

Me and 200 other bloggers call it luckbox!

Hey, one donkish play and I'm branded for life.

I don't think any of you want that to be the norm.

Jacks suck anyway.

At least I'm not the one who brought cajones in the equation. I promise to keep my cajones well covered at all times around Bayne and trust that he will extend the same courtesy to me.

"jacks suck"

A7s???

Once 3/4 of my stack is committed, I am getting 6:1 on remaining money after flop. Rest is going in.

Oviously I can't fold ATC pre at 6:1 but why bother to leave the option of folding on flop to yourself when you are still 15% to hit your pretty Ace on turn or river?

"jacks suck"

That would have been a joke. But they do anyway.

As to why leave myself the option to fold? I was distracted and not paying attention to my stack size and what I had left for a moment.

There was no great strategic objective or any fundamental misunderstanding on my part. I haven't once tried to portray it as anything but plain old donkishness, as when I described it as a "donkish play" (see first comment above) and as "a major suckout" see http://slagpile.blogspot.com).

Is there some point about which you think we have some disagreement over the play of the hand?
